How can I use
|
Most teachers find that Google Classroom makes using other digital tools much easier for their students. All DCS students and teachers have Google Accounts meaning that we have free access to Google Classroom and all Google tools.
Google Classroom is recommended for Chromebook use. This tool provides teachers with a secure way of sharing resources and information with their students. Teachers can invite other teachers to join their classroom to contribute to the classroom as well. |

The Stream is the first thing you and your students will see when you enter your Google Classroom. This is where you will post assignments, announcements, resources and questions.
The Students tab is where you will find the list of students enrolled in your classroom, and where you can access your class code. Here you can also turn on or off your students' ability to post and comment on the stream. The About tab is where you can post helpful class information and links. For important class documents and frequently used website links, those resources are best housed under "About". Here is where you also have the option to invite other teachers to your classroom! |
Pictured on the left side are the post options teachers have on the Stream in Google Classroom.
You will find these post options for clicking on the + on the bottom right corner of your screen. Announcements are great for sharing websites or updates with your students. Assignments are used for tasks your students will complete by turning some sort of evidence in. You can attach due dates, instructions, videos, and other documents to any assignment. Students can easily turn in Google Docs, Slides, Drawings, and other files like pictures, videos, links to websites, etc. Questions are great quick assessment tools in Google Classroom. You have the option to create a quick poll for your students or dig deeper by creating a discussion thread for students to read and respond to their classmates. |
